The Refugee Talent Hub: Building an Inclusive Future Together

TAUW continues its strong partnership with the Refugee Talent Hub, an organization dedicated to bringing skilled refugees into meaningful employment in the Netherlands. Building on the successful matches of 2023, TAUW hosted another Meet & Greet in 2024, inviting five candidates for three specific vacancies. We proudly welcomed two talented individuals to our organization, addressing critical staffing needs in the challenging West Netherlands region.

”Working at TAUW as a Technician in Emission Measurements is both challenging and rewarding. The team is very supportive, making it easy to fit in, and they help me out in English when I need it, creating a welcoming environment. The “Meet-and-Greet for Engineering Talents” event, organized by TAUW and Refugee Talent Hub, was really important in introducing me to the company. It helped me understand my role better and appreciate how the Hub matches people with the right jobs.” – Koray Turhan

Beyond recruitment, the Refugee Talent Hub empowers TAUW to foster a truly inclusive workplace. It provides essential training and tools to enhance cultural awareness among our leaders and colleagues, ensuring a welcoming environment for professionals from diverse backgrounds.

In the second part of 2024, TAUW collaborated with Sweco and Royal Haskoning DHV, under the Refugee Talent Hub’s guidance, to launch the Water Engineering Academy. This innovative program offers 15 refugees a pathway into the Dutch Water Engineering sector through mentorship, technical training, and soft skills development. Five TAUW colleagues serve as dedicated mentors, guiding participants towards successful careers in the Netherlands. We aim to offer other suitable candidates employment opportunities at TAUW. The program kicked off in January 2025.
