Safety & Security

At TAUW, we’re dedicated to creating a work environment where everyone feels safe and is empowered to speak up. Whether encountering a potential hazard in the field, a concern about social interactions, or an issue with data security, we encourage immediate reporting and even stopping work if you feel unsafe. We believe that together, we can build a culture of safety, at any workplace, both in the office or outside in the field.

Data security is a shared responsibility, and every employee plays a vital role in safeguarding sensitive information. In 2024, TAUW Belgium led the way by organizing our Data Security Week, a series of engaging activities and educational initiatives aimed at empowering employees to become a “human firewall.” This campaign highlighted the importance of identifying risks and adopting preventive measures, demonstrating a strong collective understanding of the critical role each individual plays in data security. Following its success, this initiative has been successfully rolled out across all TAUW entities, further strengthening our commitment to data security across the organisation.

Building on our commitment to safety, we held our third annual TAUW Group Safety Week in October. This year the week was about ‘making the safe(ty) connection’, with the Speak-Up culture as its central theme. Many enthusiastic colleagues participated in our workshop connecting our Speak-up culture with our renewed Code of Conduct. We raised hazard recognition awareness by launching our new Last Minute Risk Analysis card with our Hazard wheel. By raising awareness through these engaging activities, we strive to continuously increase employee safety at TAUW.

We prioritise a safe working environment from the start of our projects by actively recognising and implementing meaningful safety measures. At TAUW Group level, we elaborate closely on a corporate safety approach and programme by sharing monthly safety topics, statistics, and lessons learned.
